Interview Apollo Tea | Usage
By Julia Rouzaud

Julia Rouzaud is the founder and artistic director of the inspirational magazine and creative agency, GOODMOODS.

Since 2015, the magazine has been showcasing the new generations of the design world through its captivating moodboards. It celebrates creation and decoration in all its states.

To mark the launch of the new Apollo Tea collection, Saint-Louis has teamed up with GOODMOODS to explore everyday tasting moments. Now, crystal accompanies lunch and dinner, but also breakfast, coffee breaks and tea time.

"I've known about the Apollo collection for a long time, and loved the work of designers Stefania di Petrillo and Godefroy de Virieu around it. I was lucky enough to meet them and interview them for their GOODMOODS portraits. I love the interplay of materials: when a designer brings together different materials, which respond to each other and challenge each other. Here, the encounter between porcelain and crystal is singular."

"In my opinion, tableware should cultivate surprises: a table can be monochrome, a family silver service can be mismatched with colored ceramics, crystal pieces can be used for breakfast. And the Apollo collection cultivates this whimsical spirit by inviting crystal to every table, at every hour."

Illustrated by a series in a chiaroscuro atmosphere, photographer Adel Slimane Fecih captures the interludes of life and the special charm of these new pieces that brighten up every moment of the day.

From full-bodied, light tea cups to espresso cups, the Apollo Tea collection offers new rituals for tea lovers and connoisseurs alike to indulge their curiosity.

I'm always on the lookout for striking combinations in my settings, whether for GOODMOODS scenography projects or for my own home. For example, I'll display this crystal service next to Michele de Lucchi's Oceanic lamp, published by Memphis Milano. Or place it on a table in rough wood by Perriand, designed for the châlets at Les Arcs. I want to get away from smooth, uniform settings.
