The game's 33rd and final piece, a central paperweight, comes from the same workshop responsible for the Manufacture's whimsical fantaisie pieces. Everything else is built around it: thirty-two playing pieces, hot-shaped and filigreed from ten rods of mass-colored, double-layered crystal prepared in advance by that same atelier.

The board itself is the real technical feat. Five artisans hot-shape its fifteen-kilogram form from crystal as clear as water, while two more sandblast, while cold, the recesses meant to cradle each piece.
