Saint-Louis' bar by Kei

Saint-Louis and three Michelin star Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi elevate the bar experience with Saint-Louis bar by Kei, now open in Ginza, Tokyo

Saint-Louis and 3* Michelin Starred restaurant Kei’s chef owner, Kei Kobayashi Japanese Chef Kei Kobayashi, inaugurated Saint-Louis bar by Kei on April 20, 2024, on the 12th floor of the TORAYA Ginza Building facing Ginza Chuo-dori. A new barware experience starring Saint-Louis tasting and lighting collections, Bar manager Riku Suzuki’s cocktail skills and an outdoor Japanese garden.

The chandelier glamorously illuminates the space of Chef Kei Kobayashi's Restaurant KEI in Paris. The chef has adopted a 36-light Saint-Louis chandelier as the symbol of the restaurant. Apollo table lamps add gentle light to each table. Since then, Saint-Louis has maintained a warm relationship with Chef Kobayashi and has proudly watched his progress as a chef of his three Michelin stars. When Chef Kobayashi decided to open a new style bar in the Toraya Building in Ginza, Tokyo, he wanted to recreate the spirit of Paris in this location, and the concept of offering a full range of Saint-Louis products. The resonance between the chef, who continues to create a new style in the world of French gastronomy with delicacy and originality, and Saint-Louis, who continues to create new creations while inheriting the craftsmanship of French glass handicrafts, which are registered as a “UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage”. This led to the birth of “ST LOUIS BAR by KEI”.

Upon exiting the elevator, guests are greeted by an artistic installation of glasses displayed in a showcase. The sparkle of Saint-Louis crystal adds a French spirit to the space where stone and wood, symbols of French and Japanese cultures, are harmoniously combined. The bar counter is made of “Datekanmuriishi” and “Jindai cedar”, two of Japan's most famous stones and trees, and is enveloped in the warm light and shadows of mini portable “Folia” lamps that are imbued with the luminosity of crystal. In a semi-private room facing a terrace with a view of a beautiful garden inspired by a Japanese garden, a chandelier that Chef Kei Kobayashi has a special place in his heart radiates a sense of presence, creating a luxurious bar time experience. All glasses and decanters used in the bar are Saint-Louis products. The Manhattan cocktail glass is inspired by the skyscrapers of New York City, the Folia wine glass, designed by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, is beautifully cut to resemble the leaves of a Moselle forest, and the ”Tommy” tumbler has been a long seller since it was introduced in 1928 and is loved for its design incorporating a wide variety of cutouts. Customers can enjoy these to taste with their eyes and touch with their lips.
In addition to Saint-Louis original cocktails, champagnes, wines, and other beverages carefully selected by the sommelier, customers can enjoy dishes and desserts created by Chef Kei Kobayashi and served with Saint-Louis crystal products.
